Ginger Down Syndrome bodybuilding enthusiast, Ginger Burt, has been diagnosed with Down Syndrome.
Ginger, a self-described bodybuilder and former competitor, was diagnosed with the condition last year and had to undergo surgery to have the disorder removed from his body.
Ginger has a genetic condition known as Down Syndrome which causes his body to lack muscle mass and can cause other health problems.
Ginger said: “I have Down Syndrome but I have never been diagnosed.
“When I was younger, my parents would take me to a doctor and they would just say that I was just a baby, but I knew from the age of four, I knew that I had Down Syndrome.” “

Ginger’s mother, Kathy Burd, said: ‘The doctor told us he had to do surgery.
It was really tough, but we knew he couldn’t do it.’
I told him I knew it wasn’t right but he kept saying ‘well, if you’re just going to give up and stop doing it, it’s all right’.
“I had to tell him ‘you’re going to be OK’ and he just said ‘no, no, I can still do it’.’
He said it was my body.
I couldn’t stop him.
‘It was just an exercise for me.
I knew I was going to do it, and I just had to make sure he got the surgery, and then I could do the rest of my training.
‘I would have to go to a gym every day to work out.’
It’s hard for Ginger but he’s got the determination and he’s going to make it through.’
My son is doing great and he is just going through a whole new stage of his life.
He’s just got to do everything he can to get through it and be strong and keep going.’
Ginger’s mother Kathy Burden said: ”He’s going through the most incredible things and we’re going through this journey together and we are so thankful to God for his strength and for the miracle of life that he has.”
He’s a wonderful young man and I’m glad that we’re supporting him through this.’
